Twitter announced today it has improved its Summary Cards on its iOS and Android apps in a way that includes more details about web content. You’ll need to update the Twitter app in order to see the change, although it seems that the wording suggests not everyone could have this feature right from the get-go.
Previously, when you retweeted someone’s tweet, if there was a link, it would only display the web address. But now, a preview of that content appears, which one could assume is an attempt to give users a better idea about what’s on that linked page.

Today’s news confirms earlier reports that Twitter was planning to expand its link content within tweets. This feature had been available on the Web for some time. We’ve reached out to Twitter for more details and will update if we hear back.
